One of the most obviously biological differences between men and women’s speech is pitch.
Generally speaking, the pitch of a sound is how high or low it is on the musical scale.
As a speaker you want to find a pitch that is suitable for your speech.
You can apply changes in pitch to syllables, words, and even sentences to convey different meanings.
You want to make sure that you use pitch to convey the intentional meaning so that you do not drop the pitch, for example, until you have completed a concept.
Vary your pitch as you speak—droning on in a monotone voice will quickly put listeners to sleep, and speaking in a squeaking voice will make them want to cover their ears.
Keep in mind: you should adapt the pitch of your voice to the material you are presenting. For example, a high pitch conveys excitement and enthusiasm, while a low pitch indicates sadness or thoughtfulness.
